I chose samples from the Hip Hop section and went on from there. First, I found a beat that I liked and thought would set a good tempo and energy for the song. After that I found a piano sample that complemented the drums and transposed it. I gave the piano some reverb and panned it to the left. Then I found a string sample that I thought fit in with the mood of the song. I then transposed it so that it flowed nicely with the rest of the instruments. In this project I learned about transposing sounds and how to make them work together.
In this project, I decided to play around with the samples until I found one that I really liked. Once I chose what sample to remix, it was smooth sailing from there. I then played around with the push to see what sounds went together best and what times. I then transposed some of the sounds so that they would fit in with the energy of the song. I learned how to use Ableton and its complications.
This was my first Sound trap project and was my favorite because it gave me an opportunity to make sawdust and play around with the sounds. I learned how to pan and put automation on tracks so that they could move across instead of staying ion the middle.
